Collingham & District Village Care
The origins of Collingham & District Village Care can be traced back to 1982 when a Volunteer Group was formed to assist with transport to the Medical Centre. The transport system was set up with a few willing volunteers and this soon expanded to include visits to hospitals, dentist, opticians, ‘Greet, Eat n Meet’ (GEM) groups, etc. This service is available to patients registered with Collingham Medical Centre.
The group has gone from strength to strength and is a Registered Charity (no.1140642) and as such has a constitution. The group relies on fundraising activities, donations and bequests to supplement the funds required to run the transport scheme and support other groups within the village. There is a dedicated team of volunteer drivers and co-ordinators who give their time willingly to help those who have difficulty accessing transport.
New Drivers and Co-ordinators always welcome! Please contact the Co-ordinators for more details.
We continue to work jointly with the Medical Centre to serve the interests of patients.
